Seeing Wes Welker pull away from Benny Sapp for the 99.5 yd TD reception got me thinking- Is there a statistically provable racial bias against white football players in draft position? Think about it- right off the top of my head I can think of Wes Welker, Jeff Saturday, and Danny Woodhead as 3 white football players making a great impact on the game....and none of them were even drafted. Makes you think, huh?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38600807.post-53782274197254590312011-09-15T22:27:59.756-04:002011-09-15T22:27:59.756-04:00Brian- I was born and raised in the DC area and a...Brian- I was born and raised in the DC area and a lifelong Skins fan going all the way back to Superbowl VII. I recently read Moneyball and was intrigued by the use of statistical analysis to determine probabilities of success as well as player impact potential as discussed in the book. I had been wondering if such analysis existed in football and stumbled on your website. Lo and behold- it turns out you are the guy writing for the Washington Post!! I love what you are doing! I have a few ideas I might want to run by you this season. Keep up the great work!!

-CharltonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
