49ers at Jets, Week 4
Jets' ball, start of 4th quarter
The Play
With the Jets already down 17 points and having yet to score, the game was already considered to be out of reach. That didn't stop the Jets from (rightfully) keeping their starters in the game in an attempt to mount a comeback, and when Mark Sanchez swung the ball out to Santonio Holmes, all seemed to be going fine. That is until his knee ripped itself to shreds, and in the midst of agonizing pain, Holmes threw the ball into the air before being touched by a San Francisco defender. Carlos Rogers picked up the ball and scored a touchdown on the play.
The Result
The play didn't even add to San Fran's win probability, but the play has much more macro implications. Santonio will not play another game for the Jets this year, and with Darrell Revis already sidelined, the Jets season is all but over.
They still have another 12 games to play, but you can completely write the Jets off after this one play. I know I have.
The Jets were done before the season started. The Buffalo season open gave us false hope. Losing Revis means routine blowouts as Kyle Wilson will be targetd.
The Jets should lose the rest of their games, to get good graft picks, (not that they know how to draft) and rebuild.

They were probably already screwed by the Revis injury alone.
Maybe if they had a top-25 quarterback they'd still be contenders.
